The wooden church was inaugurated on September 21, 1880 and seats for approx. 150 people. Originally, the church had the status of a chapel with the name Amundrud, named after the farm it was built on.
The church building is called a «long church» and was designed by architect Johannes Henrik Nissen. It was created after great efforts from locals who wanted an accessible church near the west of Snarumselva. Here young people and adults gather for fellowship through worship services, concerts and church activities.
The interior of the church was renovated in 1930. The altarpiece was painted by Anders A. Kongsrud and shows the crucifixion of Jesus. Outside the church is a sculpture of a white angel, maybe you can spot it?
